SHE IS FROM MEXICO AND HER NAME IS MARGARITA

More than a woman's name...

It Probably dates back to 1938 in honor of a beautiful Mexican showgirl named Rita. A bartender, inspired by her electrifying performance, improvised a cocktail to capture her heart with Tequila and the flavourful of Mexican limes.

Ever since then, Margarita has captured the hearts of many people around the world.

The search for the origin of the Margarita is probably one of the most exciting journeys one could take, to discover the colorful history of beautiful Mexico with its flavors, aromas, and of course the magic world of tequila.

Truth is though that so far, nobody has discovered the one and only true story, yet!

Many stories of beautiful women from Texas high society and Baja California, gorgeous movie stars from the 40s who claimed the creation of Margarita.

Many bartenders were also staking their claim, their stories making the trips to the endless, beautiful beaches

This classic cocktail owes its character to Agave Spirits, the spirit that captures the heart & soul of Mexico, including its traditions, its magic, and its history. Tequila or Mezcal infuses the Margarita with fun and gives it an edge over other cocktails and spirits.

The making of the Margarita can be tailored to any occasion, or to whatever equipment is available. Depending on whether you are at home, or mixing the drink professionally, the creation of this cocktail will vary.

The ingredients can be spontaneously tossed into a shaker or assembled with focus and care. The one consistent factor should be passion and the freshness and quality of the ingredients. A well-made and well-balanced Margarita is perfect for any occasion, informal or formal, day or night.

Facts

• That we can say about this cocktail with certainty that no one can doubt. First, it is the most popular tequila-based cocktail in the world.

• The other truth is that Margarita was the reason for tequila to become a world-renowned spirit, helping the category by "hiding" the slightly "harsh" taste that tequila had back in the days.

• Since the 90s the Margarita has been in the TOP 5 of the World's most famous cocktails, which has helped the spirit become a bartender's "best friend”.

SWEETENER

Tequila

Tequila comes in several varieties Blanco, Reposado, Anejo, and Extra Anejo which when used will impact the flavor profile of the Margarita.

Mezcal...A smoky twist?

The truth is that not all Mezcals are smoky but you can always look and explore one that tends to be a bit more intense and smoky or you can always add a touch of smoked salt in there.

Incorporating mezcal can add a unique twist to your margarita, providing a complex, earthy flavor that contrasts beautifully with the tangy lime. Consider a 50/50 blend of tequila and mezcal for a balanced drink.

Sweetener

Common choices include Triple Secs, Orange liqueur like Med Orange Liqueur, Sugar, and Agave syrup. Sweeteners should enhance, not overpower your cocktail. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste. Agave nectar is a popular choice (Tommys Margarita by Julio Bermejo) for its natural connection to Agave.

Salt

Some prefer their margaritas without salt, so they offer both options to cater to different tastes but overall salt enhances the overall flavor profile of the Margarita.
